White Wednesday...Shades of White

I've been so inspired by all of the neutral decorating I've been seeing lately. And I'm finding that I'm so drawn to the calm, serene feeling of Shades of White that I've decided to redecorate my home. We have lots of color in our home now but I'm feeling like it's just adding to the clutter. So, my goal is to Simplify and choose lots of neutral shades and lots of texture so it doesn't get boring. I will be sharing our progress right here on my blog. But don't hold your breath, we're a little slow in the project department......so... I've learned to be patient.

I just put together a few photos of some favorite white pieces in my boutique and I'm participating in White Wednesday over at Faded Charm.
Make sure you stop by for more White Inspiration!

Hi Dawn,
Your little vignettes are charming. I too am drawn to calming shades of white. My family's with yours in the little slower on projects, but at least we're moving (very slowly). Have fun changing things around with your colors. Very serene, thanks for the inspiration. I really hope to be a part of White Wednesday in the next couple of weeks, it's just lovely.

Hi Dawn
My home is also full of colour (painting right now as a matter of fact), but had to come and see the WW posts.
My inside is full of pastels, but outside is red and yellow.
Nice change.
Happy WW

Pretty whites, and they did evoke a serene feeling. I wonder if the color in my home adds to the clutter? I sure have both!

Yep, ditto for me. I spring clean every year and EVERYTHING gets washed and edited. It's such a great renewal time. I've done it every year since I've had my own home in 1970. This past year....nope.......my Mum passed away and the grieving took over. My house is feeling like it's closing in on me. I need to EDIT badly! YIKES! I was pushing to get it finished before Christmas, but I think I'm going to wait until after so I can just enjoy the sweet season...then hit it reallllly hard. I don't think I'll be doing the "shades of white" thing.......I'm crazy about it, but I love color too. I'm kind of stuck there.

I can't wait to see yours! It'll be fun to watch the re-do!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,
Spencer

Hey Dawn...I too have loved the serenity of whites and off whites for a long time. I heard thru a friend that someone who had been in our home said it looked like "vanilla pudding"....but it did not offened me...just made me feel all the more that the simplicity of it all... is my thing. Very peaceful.

GOOD for you...you will love it.

You can always ADD colors later...we just need to start with the basics and work from there.
