Our New Store!

It has been 1 month since we opened our first brick and mortar location in Northport Village, NY. Hydrangea Home began 22 years ago and it has always been a dream of mine to have my own store. After 22 years of craft shows, home shows, selling in various shops on Long Island, Etsy and my own website, I finally have a physical location (no more basement!) to work, create and display.  We signed the lease on 1/28/17 and opened the doors on 3/11/17. It was a crazy 6 weeks of construction, display work and creating. Everyone in the family helped out and dedicated their weekends to getting the store ready. I honestly could not have done it without their help! The support from family, friends and the Northport community has been overwhelming. We are so happy to be here.

We make a lot of the products in the store including florals, art, photography, and wood items. I have also found a long list of makers creating beautiful jewelry, soaps, candles, pillows and linens. So excited to support other small businesses and artisans. We added a counter with stools in the store that overlooks my workspace. Come sit, browse a decorating book or magazine and see what we are working on. One of my favorite things about having the shop is interacting with my customers. I truly enjoy the conversations!  If you are local, I hope you will come see us!

I have so much to be thankful for...very supportive family, friends and customers have been a big part of the success of my business.  This season, our work and business have appeared in 4 magazine publications! Is this a dream? It has been for a very long time. I had a couple of mentions in magazines in the past but this is a big one. So excited and wanted to share the news!

Holiday Shop Announcement!

We will not be able to accept any orders after this date except for in stock items.  Our workshop is reaching the max for the season! Flowers and changes

We are in the middle of Soccer Tournaments and Dance Recital weekend but I wanted to share some news with you.

I've considered this for a while now and have made the decision to discontinue all silk floral pieces.

I'm going back to preserved and dried - just can't stay away from floral design.

They also remain an inspiration for my floral art - which I am also getting back to - but in a different mixed media sort of way.

So this means I have a bit of inventory to move along. I will be using up what I have and can no longer take custom orders on silk florals.

     All Florals have been discounted 25% Off! 

This fall I will introduce a new line of dried and preserved which I think you will love!

Dreamers into Doers!

A couple of months ago I joined Martha Stewart's ning group Dreamers into Doers.

It looked interesting and includes a great group of women who have started or want to start a variety of businesses.

So much has evolved since joining this creative group!

We are all meeting in NYC for a taping of the Martha Stewart Show. This event will also now include many other events including visiting a women's shelter all organized by Terry Grahl, the owner of Enchanted Makeovers. I have supported Terry's cause in the past and am so excited to meet her and be part of another one of her very special projects.

I love what the girls at Frenchie and Flea are doing.

They will be promoting a Handmade Holiday season by featuring Etsy artists and vintage sellers.

I also pledge to buy Handmade or Vintage this Holiday Season.

I also pledge to create new and exciting Holiday decor for sale in my Etsy shop and website - I've got lots of ideas in my sketchbook and in the works.

When at the gift show this year, I wasn't inspired to order any of the Holiday Decor the vendors were offering.
