Creative Studio...storage project

I've seen these done before and finally just found a way to have them for myself.  My kids wanted to earn some money and they're too young to get a job, so I put them to work....

I bought these unassembled, unfinished storage drawers at IKEA.

My son got to work putting them together (way too many nails for my patience).

My daughter did the sanding, priming, painting and decoupaging. She used heavy stock scrapbook paper.

I just love them!

My daughter enjoyed the project, however, thought the wages of $20 for all her hard work was unfair.....

I'm participating in Kimba's DIY day. Click on the graphic below to visit more projects.

I've seen these little Ikea drawers and almost bought them to store some crafting supplies. This turned out so cute! What a great project to get the kiddos involved in. Love it!

Ikea storage drawer cabinets are all over right know. I showed a similar makeover this Monday. I had to do it myself though, no kids I could hire.
Love the paper you choose!

They look really good. It think it's great that they learned the value of a dollar earned. I don't know how old your kids are but my 11 and 12 yr old have a dog walking job and cut, edge etc a yard once a week and they make about $200 a month-not bad for their age.
This is my first time to your blog. I started a new KNOCK OFF KNOCK OUT party and I bet you have some things to put in the party-it's every Monday. I would love to have you submit this idea next Monday. I hope you come over and become a follower and subscribe and I will do the same.

Great idea to get the kids involved. All I can do with mine is haul her to all the junk shops and thrift stores on a regular basis. Maybe when she learns to not put everything in her mouth... or walk or something. ;) I love your DIY, to cool.

So cute, wish I had an IKEA closer!

I'm laughing at your daughter's pay comment, mine would be the same.
