Wouldn't it be nice to treat someone special this May Day with a little surprise flower bouquet? Traditionally, May Day Flower baskets were left on the doorsteps of neighbors on May 1st. The jars are just an updated version of this sweet idea.We thought it would be fun to have a May Day Jar contest at Make Mine Pink.

Oh you have brought back some memories for me! When I was a child and living in Maine we made May Day baskets and actually went around the May Pole !
This is such a sweet idea.

Hi Dawn,
The May Day Jars are really beautiful. Thanks for your tutorial on how to do them. Love your blog! Thanks for your help with my link.

Oh, I love your May Day flower hangers. When I was a little girl all of our neighbors used to hang tussie mussies from the door nob and surprise everyone for May Day. Such a lovely tradition.

I still do may baskets for my neighbors. I have moved a few times and still always do it for at least one neighbor. I am glad to see someone else keep up the tradition. I am inspired by your jars, and think I will try that this year too!
What a great site!
Visiting from SITS to welcome you and say hello :)
