One of my favorites - never used to be. I used to toss the baby's breath from my flower arrangements. Now, I love it on it's own. So pretty, like lace.
Last weekend we celebrated my daughter's First Holy Communion. Thought this would make a pretty entrance to our backyard party. Would be beautiful for an outdoor wedding too.
Simple, inexpensive, and elegant.
In a gate basket...
In a wire basket with burlap on a farm table (of course)...
I have used them in mason jars placed inside a wood planter...love!
It also makes a beautiful flower wreath for a special Communion girl.
Still working on more photos from France! Coming soon...

Baby's Breath Love
Not long ago, I would take all of the baby's breath out of the rose bouquets my husband would bring home - and throw it away!
Now, I just love this delicate flower.
After all the Christmas was put away, I needed something. And I think baby's breath is the perfect flower for all seasons...reminds me of snow, in a way.
And its beautiful in the spring and summer too.
It's just what my home needed to get through the rest of the dreary winter.
And it's inexpensive too, look for some in your supermarket.

Dreamy Whites on Houzz
Houzz.com is definitely one of my favorite home design resources. You can browse through hundreds of photos and create your own idea books for any room in your home, inside and out. I love their weekly email where they feature certain idea books or decorating styles. Maria from Dreamy Whites ~ one of my new blog favorites is on their feature list this week on decorating with whites. Here is a link to a slideshow - pics of her gorgeous home and her interview. You can leave a comment on her feature and enter to win a Pottery Barn giveaway.

White Wednesday... Snow
I wished for it and we got it! A snow day. I just love telling the kids "school's closed!"
I thought the pretty white stuff made a great post for today's White Wednesday over at
Kathleen's Faded Charm Cottage.
The large pic on the left is the view out of my studio where I stay nice and warm! The pic on the top right is my dogwood in the backyard looking pretty. The middle pic on the right is where I have my coffee in the morning next to the fire and the last pic on the bottom is an arrangement of greens in a basket on my front porch.
I'm staying in today and working on more painted eggs.
My first batch went quickly - I thank you for that!
Enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Thanksgiving to You!

I have so much to be thankful for - family, friends, health...(and the bittersweet vine I just discovered growing in my yard).
But this year's highlight is my mom's milestone...5 years breast cancer free!
For that I am most thankful.
Hope you all have a great one!
Oh and it's White Wednesday at Kathleen's Faded Charm. Hop on over for some white inspiration.

Embossed Wallpaper

I love this stuff. I bought this huge roll years ago and I'm still not tired of creating with it! That's unusual for me.

It's such a pretty and simple background between glass for a sepia or black and white photo. I'd love to do a collection of these on a wall.

Here is the shape I use to make my holiday cones (to be added to my shop this week)...filled with creamy white glittered hydrangeas, and fastened with an old white button from grandma's collection (yes, I'm still creating with them- I still have cookie tins full!)

White Wednesday...Shades of White
I've been so inspired by all of the neutral decorating I've been seeing lately. And I'm finding that I'm so drawn to the calm, serene feeling of Shades of White that I've decided to redecorate my home. We have lots of color in our home now but I'm feeling like it's just adding to the clutter. So, my goal is to Simplify and choose lots of neutral shades and lots of texture so it doesn't get boring. I will be sharing our progress right here on my blog. But don't hold your breath, we're a little slow in the project department......so... I've learned to be patient.I just put together a few photos of some favorite white pieces in my boutique and I'm participating in White Wednesday over at Faded Charm.
Make sure you stop by for more White Inspiration!
