Living Room Ideas

When Arhaus contacted me to design a living room using their furniture, the timing was perfect! We are in the process of renovating our living room which used to be my work studio. It's a pretty large space so I picked out quite a few pieces that I would love to see in there.

When choosing a media console, I thought the easel was so unique and of course since I'm a painter and this room is where I used to do my work, this piece was so meaningful.

I'm not a rule follower when it comes to decorating. Choosing items that I love and have some meaning or usefulness for our family is what I'm thinking about when decorating. The colors and pieces in this mood board are just the perfect palette for a peaceful room to hang out in. That muted teal is one of my favorites and I love the slate blue tabletops. The room I'm planning is more of a casual family room so I picked items that weren't too formal but I think the round coffee table and end table add the perfect touch of elegance I was looking for.

It was so simple to find something in every category at Arhaus. Their products are just my style!

I was so excited when Lori from Lavender Fields asked me to choose my favorite products from her gorgeous shop for her first curated sale. How fun it was to "shop" for beautiful chandeliers, furniture and accessories. You can still shop my favorites HERE for 20% off until October 28th!

I only create and curate things for my shop that I would love for my own home.
Here are a few of my favorite things:

• a display piece I created from an old door, textured paper and cast iron brackets (it also serves as a great backdrop for product photos)
• a painted sign representing my love of farmhouse style
• hydrangeas and my new line of canvas art from my own photos
• ribbons, burlap, wooden spools and scissors pretty enough to leave out especially in a special bowl or basket
• boxwoods look good always
• and finally European linen tea towels

A beautiful nursery...Peconic River Herb Farm

Only 30 minutes from my home and my first time here! This place has been on my long list of places to see and I'm so glad we (took my mom for her birthday) finally went. I can tell you I will be a regular. And if you are on Long Island, it's a must see, you won't be sorry.  A large peaceful property right on the river with many places to sit and take it all in.

those market lights!

I have been eyeing those market lights for a while now.  They appear in many of the outdoor space pins I have on my backyard board.  See them HERE.

Just love the ambiance they create. My husband spotted them at the best price I have seen at $60/set from Costco.  Weatherproof, sturdy, and they come with replacement bulbs. Can't wait to string them over the patio this summer.  I have seen them elsewhere for a higher cost or comparable ones that can't stay outside in the rain. I'd rather leave them up!

Festival this weekend

We've been working like crazy creating for the Maritime Festival this weekend in Greenport, NY.  If you're a local - come on by! Make it part of your apple picking, wine tasting weekend. Hoping for good weather!
